I just want to be able to say:

I'd like to leave it up to the designers or the system, or the browser,
or the user to figure out what color that menu should be. Give me a
style sheet to use. No canvasses, no movies, no some weird ways to load
dynamic data into a control.
All Flash GUIs that I had personally seen always made me ask whether
something could be clicked or dragged or what not. At this point, I
would rather settle for evolutionary.

Yes, if necessary - but only once. Fortunately, Flash allows you to
reuse code.
