The money gets taken as soon as possible ... (usually within 1-2 days) ... If your customer is not wanting to charge for not in stock items, then you have two choices.
1) process orders by hand 2) if using realtime processing, then you will need to check inventory before the order is completed and run the total of items in stock through the credit card processing.
