Hi,

I just had a look at the "SQL Server Management Studio Express CTP" tool that I had installed a while ago and forgotten about, and there it is, right click on a database, go to tasks, select "generate scripts" and the wizard does the rest.

Hope that helps
Joel

That's what I said Joel.   But it's not so.   There is no such feature in SQLServer2005.    You can't script it just like you did in Enterprise Manager.   I used to get database details many ways in EntMgr, but they are all either well hidden or not available in the new version.

You can do a whole bunch of scripting and visual programming with it, but as I said, I'm up to part 9 after 5 hours and still no sign of how to do this task, which I would have thought was a pretty basic need.

I even tried using the freeware EMS SQL Manager lite, and there's an Extract database feature in that, but not in the full version.    But to invoke the extract database wizard, you have to use the Extract Database wizard from the Tools/Extract Database item on the menu.   However there is no TOOLS menu and after looking around for an hour now I can't find where a Tools menu might be hiding.  There's no FIle/Edit/View etc menu bar on this.

Cheers

Script the database, upload script, execute (You can execute through CFQuery with a little modification). I've done this for years using enterprise manager, I know things have changed, but something similar should be in SQL 2005?
