Mark,

This is why they call it beta software. Vista is a completely different
operating system compared to the previous versions of windows. And having
said that, things like ZeroG installers etc will need to release newer
versions for Vista, but as Vista is around 6-10 months away from release
don't expect any support for something that is still in beta.

Oh, did I mention that Vista is Beta and it always states do not use as a
primary workstation of something you need to rely on, but of course you read
all the TOS, and beta notes didn't you?

Subject: [cfaussie] Anyone got CFMX7 to install on Vista?

Hi,

I'm quickly losing my hair trying to get CFMX7 installed on Vista Beta
2 (Build 5456). Has anyone managed to do this?

The installer looks a little screwy (boxes around options etc aren't
drawn correctly) but still works as expected up till the last step
after it confirms all the selected options. It goes to start the
actual install of files, waits for 10 or so seconds and then just
closes. No errors, no log files, no event logs - nothing!

I've uninstalled all applications, 3rd party drivers etc so it's back
to a fresh install of Vista, but still have the same problem. Have
tried different types of installs (built-in web server, IIS, plus Jrun
option, tried with RDS on and off etc) with the same end result. Also
made sure to run the installer as an Administrator, but still no luck.

Anyone have ideas? Just about had enough and ready to format and
reinstall XP or Server 2003.

Regards,
Mark Picker
