for my money, the best way of searching for something is using Google
in Firefox where I can centre click a result I'm interested in as a
new (behind) tab (if it's rubbish, discard it). the simple search box,
the box above the results for easy refinement or adding of keywords,
the ranking order of results, etc.

so I'm looking for inspiration on search screens with a strong focus
on usability. I've come across some woeful search/results screens
(even built some meself - not a proud moment) so I know good ones can
be a bit of a black art.

In this case the content will be all text, there'll be very little
visual clues for the user to differentiate one result from another (as
far as suitability) and I could really need a preview section for the
user to have a closer look at one result before (easily) flicking to
another.

anyone come across some search / results they think are the good oil?

thanks
