I think you'll find that unless you're setting several thousand
varaibles, the performance difference is so negligible that you needn't
worry about it. Far more important is how easy it will be to debug and maintain your code in the future: 1 developer working for an hour costs roughly the same to an organization as an extra 128 MB of memory. You will save a lot more in the long term by just making the code readable and maintainable than by worrying about whether <cfset> is faster than <cfscript> Spike Nick Gorst wrote: So what we are talking about is a minimal performance cost for using CFSET unless there are an excessive number of variables to declare which has been reduced with the release of MX. Has anyone bench tested this? :)Thanks for the input Guys Nick -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Gary Menzel Sent: Wednesday, 2 July 2003 10:11 AM To: CFAussie Mailing List Subject: [cfaussie] RE: Cf Programming Style -- Stephen Milligan Consultant for hire http://www.spike.org.uk--- You are currently subscribed to cfaussie as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] MX Downunder AsiaPac DevCon - http://mxdu.com/ |
