I don't understand what you mean by "mixing XML into it". That is, what
"XML" would you "mix" into the email? How would the client edit the XML
you send them?
-------------
If the client supports HTML and I would neatly format everything like for example

<p>
First name: <firstName>Taco</firstName><br/>
Last name: <lastName>Fleur</lastName><br/>
etc....
</p>

And the client would hit reply, and lets say correct his last name and send it back, I
could then parse this.. That's if this crazy lunatic idea of mine would even come
close to working ;-))

--------------
Regarding creating a HTML form....

But - if you rely on the client to just email you back and you are trying
to parse off what they have sent you - how can you be sure you can even
read it or they will fill in mandatory information, etc. etc. etc.

I would have said that data validation and error checking would be even
more of a problem if you get them to reply to the email.

I realise you may have other contraints, but even a form using <CFFORM>
(*gag*) would be better than trying to parse returned emails (or worse -
rely on human fingers to type right and human eyes to read right).
--------------

I agree and have pointed out the BUTS, but decissions have been made and I have to
live with that if you know what I mean?
They are quite happy with just going through the emails manually and enter the changes
in the db. A form is out the question, not because I don't like it, simply because it
has been voted against. I thought some XML in the email might do the trick, not
exactly sure how, just guessing at the moment....
