thank you all that posted a comment.  This list is one of my greatest resources for 
inspiration and technical support.

I am sitting down this afternoon with the client to draft out a new website with 
changes to the design, however the code is something i am going to have to spend many 
nights getting right, i think one of my issues is that the client is putting in their 
own content via htmleditor and the other is that due to this being my first site i am 
constantly finding new and faster ways to doing things however everytime i do i leave 
a bit of the old code there.....

This has been a very steep learning curve as it is my first experience with code.
