When I need animation and embeded streaming video and audio - then I can see a reason. But not just for regular everyday applications.
ah, I can. I'm doing my darnist to push this because I can see how we can use it here. Some of the technology (eg video/audio streaming) isn't that new (porn sites have been using it for a while - or so I'm told!). At the moment it is in no way rock solid (Tues Breeze broadcast by Robin Hilliard showed that) but that will come with time. It's still early days.
I'm not sure I'd agree. Flash Comms as a tool and Breeze as a solution both exhibit rock-solid audio/video. They never cease to amaze me. Just finished a Breeze Breakfast in Melbourne and it went off without a hitch -- live demos are every presenters worst nightmare, especially when your doing it for real and pulling in people from disparate locations.
The CFUG presentation we were running the other night was off the cuff, with the presenter having little or no experience at all with the product. I'm sure your reception would have been better if the CFUG network connection was a little bit fatter -- of course Mr Muller didn't help by having his screen resolution set to 1600xwhatever for the demo!!
We'll get better as we all become more familiar with the technology so don't give up on CFUG breezo's :) -- but as a platform Flash/FlashComms is pretty hardcore.
