> Here is my thoughts on the whole FLEX hype. and
> Sadly, i think the whole Flash RIA negativity is still pretty strong in > the Web application Industry and its still a hard sell. I think you have highlighted my points exactly. I like "new stuff" I like "change" - but I wont change just because someone tells me I should. There has to be some justification to the change. And I still have not seen enough justification for me to change in regard to Flash for complete applications. When I need animation and embeded streaming video and audio - then I can see a reason. But not just for regular everyday applications. Which brings me back to MXML again. I think it looks really kewl. I think I would like to use it in Cold Fusion (even without any regard for Flash - and on a certain level I am already doing that with my own applications). Which is why I was asking the questions of Sean regarding how MXML slots into the architecture where CF is concerned (and he answered fairly clearly that it really lives on the "Flash" side of the fence and not with CF). That's OK though - I am still going to continue wire-framing my application workflow with XML of some kind or other cause it makes them faster to develop in the long run.
