Hi Cassie,

I've searched around and found basically its 190 setup + 45 a month rental (extra $17 if i choose a diff isp then bigpond and dont want to pay metered data/time).

I've looked at bigpond and dunno how much mb per month i would eat, 1gig seems pretty small? have you ever gone over?

I am also thinking of ecn.com.au or dart.com.au?

I think ISDN has changed greatly over the last couple of years. I have had
to get it because our area is not cabled for ADSL or cable. I am with
Telstra and I am actually pretty happy. I think it is around $100 for 128K,
1GB downloads which suits me. Rarely get dropouts, speed is not ADSL but
definitely beats the pants off my 56K modem. You no longer have to pay for
the connection calls, they are included in your plan.

Putting it on my line has meant my fax on the computer doesn't work, but I
think I just need to fiddle with the ISDN modem settings. I can still use
my laptop to connect via modem or send faxes on the same line so haven't
worried about it.

Subject: [cfaussie] OT: ISDN Access?

Due to my IT blackhole.. (waits for ass jokes to come forward) i am
force to the only option of coming close to broadband, ISDN.

Before I spend a fortune on setup costs etc, can anyone here who has
ISDN give me any advice on what to get / look out for.

Furthermore, any good ISDN ISP's in Brisbane?

p.s
I cant get ADSL/CABLE due to underground cabling and the fact that they
have no spare copper lines... bastards..
