Title: [OT] CMS Shado vs FarCry -> User friendliness
well...ummm...if you'ld like a complely independant answer..............only joking.

I must admit to not knowing anyone who is working fulltime with both Farcry and Shado but know a number who have dabbled with both.

Firstly, both myself and Geoff are pretty open and honest about the respective merits of both products which both have different architectures to basically achieve similar goals. This means that choice comes down to personal preference and which tool best fits to provide a given solution for a client, this often goes outside of just technical issues in many cases.

Overall, (hey, I'm the vendor and make money out of selling the thing so take this as you will) Shado probably has more user interface components than FarCry (Geoff alluded to this at the MM partner day in Sydney so I"m sure I'm not out of line with the comment). We have taken the decision to build user inteface components that we belive 90% of our potential clients require, FarCry gives you the option ( as I understand it)  to build (or extend the base ) yourself.

So, from a purely technical perspecitive it's the age old buy v build argument as I see it with regards to the interface. The tricky bit is that FarCry comes with UI componets on install and that Shado is also very extendable so it's back to personal preference and trying both to see which one fits your requirements best.

As I said, I'm the vendor so it ain't like you're getting this from an indepentant source but if you ask FarCryer's they love it and if you ask Shadoer's they love it ( well....i hope they do :-) ) so hard to get indepenant advice until there are developers using both.

Cheers

Grant

Subject: [cfaussie] [OT] CMS Shado vs FarCry -> User friendliness

Has anyone worked with both Shado and FarCry?
If so, which one of the two did they consider the most user-friendly?

I know Shado is a nice developers tool etc. but when looking at it from an end-user perspective i.e. non developers being able to work with it, what CMS is recommended?
