Its called Human Resources.
Pure and simple, if i were to send someone an email that contained a swear word, they could complain that I'm "sexually harassing" them (which would be the case 90% of the time)
It's typically to stamp out offensive jokes being sent around (regardless) if the poster who sends them deems it offensive of harmless. Stuff like that, in that work is for work, bar-humor is for bars.
I've been in a couple of places where the S-bomb was deemed offensive..which sucked because if you find a mistake in your code, you kind of typically go "aahhhhh sh..." or something along those lines.
I also know a person, who despite my potty mouth (which I can swear with the best of them) finds swearing offensive due to his religious beliefs. I respect that when I'm around him and try to curb it, others on here may also have the same and are probably being polite and not requesting such wordies being spent on the list. i doubt that last remark, but it *could* happen.
Scott. P.S Light = Lite in my last post...i'm getting worse with my engrish day by day.

I like your attitude, I would do the same thing.
As to why they would do that, well it's the government, they are uptight, I've worked at a few government places and sometimes I was to afraid to sneeze...
What they don't understand is that happiness improves work... But when the top management is unhappy why should everybody else be allowed to have fun and be merry.?. They see us watching a funny video and see that as time wasting, but they don't understand that that little break could spark up some good ideas... Am I rambling yet?? OK, I'll stop..
