Something you may want to consider:

How many people, aside from the ones involved in the development of the site,
are going to open your page in multiple browsers and sit them side by side to
compare the results? For users, they open whatever is their preferred (or
enforced) browser and browse your page in that. End of story.

The only people likely to be browser hopping are other developers if you ask
them to site check for you. If you're asking them, it's probably because they
know what they're doing. In that case, they most likely understand and
appreciate that different browsers render relative font sizes slightly
differently.

My advice to you would be to ask a different question when you look at the
page. Instead of asking "Does the page look pixel-perfectly identical in all
browsers?" you should ask "Does this page look okay in this browser?" for each
browser you test in. As long as the text is readable and isn't breaking your
layout, it's okay if it doesn't look exactly the same as in another browser.

Pixel-perfection and accessibility just don't seem to mix.

Just my take on the subject, anyway. :)

Cheers,

Seona.
