> Lots of interesting misinformation in this thread!

Ai Kay, you're not wrong there

Try this Brian

html {
        font-size : 100.01%;
}
body {
        font-size: whatever you want in ems or %;
}
etc...

Interestingly enough the whole fixed / relative font things is because
of a bug in IE. The Spec says ALL FONTS SIZES SHOULD BE CONTROLLED BY
THE USER - therefore there should be no such thing as a FIXED font
size on the web. However IE has an option that defaults to on that
locks down px and pt. Tools > Internet Options > General >
Accessibility > Ignore font sizes.. This doesn't actually ignore font
sizes, it just makes IE behave like Firefox etc..

The Accessibility guys at W3C are not about the standards, they are
more about real life and so that rule regarding fixed/relative font
sizes is directly related to this IE bug, otherwise px would be fine.

One more thing pt has no meaning for screen output, they should only
be used when you know the physical dimensions of the output device
(like when printing). From the spec "pt: points -- the points used by
CSS2 are equal to 1/72th of an inch."
