This is a nonsense statement. You cannot justify saying this. It's part of Macromedia's task to counter that, dont you think? I know it's a real perception because I keep hearing it. For example in the last month, I've heard it from a Telco IT director who has 12 CF developers, and a NSW government department with a CF team of 8. I'm not saying it's a valid perception. I'm saying it exists, and it's a real belief, at least in the planning calculations of the IT people I've met. And in my travels I havent met one - NOT ONE - in the last two years who has said they're going to be investing in ColdFusion. I've spent a lot of my career in the sales end of the computer business. It's not just happenstance that computer companies spend a lot of money telling the world who is using their technology. Without the general perception around that the technology is going ahead, existing users are easy prey to their competitors. IBM goes to great expense to work on the perception that their user base is growing. So does Unisys, and so do all the other IT vendor companies. Look at all the brochures and ads for computer technology. A LARGE proportion of them use real life client examples. There's a reason for that. Except, as far as I can see, Macromedia. I'd have thought it would be part of their sales process to bellow to the world that XXX has a new site built on their excellent technology. Because while I'm not going to name names here, I've had numerous site owners telling me they're not going to be doing any more new development on ColdFusion. In the last two years I havent met anyone who has decided to move TO ColdFusion. That doesnt mean such people exist, but I sure havent met any. And I'd dearly love to. I'm not going to debate my personal affairs with you in a forum like this, but as for your comment about moving out of my own suburb, please dont be insulting. I am prepared to go anywhere that makes sense, except that I can't uproot my family, sell my house move to another town. For a lot of reasons that's not possible. But I'll go anywhere in the Sydney basin. I'm not frightened of hard work or travel and you aren't being at all fair saying so. If you know about all these jobs, and you know of all these people who need CFDevelopers, how about telling me about a few of them (Off list though please)? OR are you just going to keep it all to yourself?
