The biggest problem dreamweaverMX has, is the handling of big files.
I just opened a cfm file with 2600 lines (100 KB) and waited 2 minutes!!
Does it have a lot of cfquery tags? I seem to recall a similar issue reported where DW was doing some sort of analysis / validation on the queries... but I can't remember how to resolve it.
Charlie Arehart has a great set of hints'n'tips for CFS users migrating to DWMX, where he shows how to configure DWMX so that it is more CFS-like, both in terms of UI and speed. You might be able to find more info on his systemanage.com site (and I blogged references to it a couple of times).
