Todd,

I seriously doubt that Macromedia would not include functionality that is
included in BD.  that's like saying Mercedes won't offer GPS navigation cause
Hunday sells it with their SUV.

The mere fact that BD is still alive and kicking is a market manifestation of
the fact that MM hasn't met all the needs of their customer, whether it be price
point concerns or functionality issues.

In the constantly evolving software development marketplace MM cannot be
stagnant even in developing and evolving Coldfusion.  Companies such as BD and
others force MM to respond to their customers need (I.E. the CFML community) by
making their products "better" or more comprehensive.

I think BD and other companies speaked more about the helthiness of the CFML
language and maturity of the market than a weakness.  It says there is room for
not only improvement but competition.  In the end that can only translate into a
better product whether from MM or BD.
