PLEASE READ... (This is how it applies to factories. If it is an aspect that
you are not concerned with that is fine... but it actually does apply.)

Not all companies are tech companies and they don't have a "STAFF" to do
solutions. If they choose CF then it isn't because they have an "enterprise"
oriented concept of IT solutions. If our solutions don't also translate to
shared hosting then the fact is that we are eating some of our user base
away. If small companies that will grow into bigger companies use other
solutions... or ones that join bigger companies... then we are also eating
our market away. (Do you think Adobe will be doing and using more CF in the
future? Just an example.) Application (how the technology will be used) is
very much part of design. If we don't have the goals in mind... the best
design in the world won't be dependable!

Therefore, the guys in the know should do what they understand to be best.
Yet there is valid truth that if CF fails because of things that are not CF
issues (such as bad coding) it still gives CF a bad name! The "GURUs" didn't
always have this great knowledge... and the small companies just aren't
going to have it. So let's remember not to toss that market share to ASP/PHP
just because they don't use the best "Design Patterns" and such. Let's not
post this is the right way... and any other way is wrong. It effects the
whole picture. If something is wrong post the issues... but remember that
it's often a decision that requires more of the picture than just the IT
outlook. (We ought to have the ideal business vehicles, phone system,
servers, cell phones, and so on. Yep! But you won't find many businesses
than can do it all the ideal way... so someone has to choose what comes and
what goes. They don't always let the IT department stear the ship!)

I disagree with your
comments, but seeing as they have nothing to do with the Factory
Pattern, I'm just going to stop now.
