Another option is Solaris 10.  The issue with virtual servers, though,
is hardware.  It's REALLY important to have good hardware and solid
administration if you are going to run in this environment.  At least
that's my experience, especially when it comes to VMWare/GSX.

Funnily enough I nearly added that as an option on my list (but I
suspected you'd be along to mention it)! Yes, VMWare is a good, cheap
option for running multiple instances on a single server.
