That was one of the beauties of Newsgroups! You could filter threads much easier than you can discussion lists. It isn't always the best technology or business that takes the other one out. Sometimes the more technical best practices are not the ones that win out. Yet... it's still a great forum in spite of those of us who don't make things fun. You should try not reading the posts if you don't find them fun. It's an amazing way to deal with it!

So if you would volunteer to create some articles on this over and over topics... me thinks Ray would review your content and approve it if it is good enough to post on his site.
