Exactly... there's nothing to do but nothing. Status-quo is the  
answer, I think.

Granted, people will continue to join, but they'll be people serious  
about the topic and who only hear about it thru word-of-mouth.

And don't worry about being noisy, dude... nobody's gonna get banned  
unless they deserve it and it was a worthwhile question even if the  
response was a bit passionate. :D
