Yep. I'd never end up going to the Google Group either. I just recently re-subscribed to this list and I'm actually glad I did.
I have 8 email accounts set up on my computer and this comes into one of them, which is then filtered out to a folder just for this list. That way it stays out of the way of any personal email I may get, but I still see the emails coming in and think to read them and reply where I can. I once had the same situation with CF-Talk and unsubbed just for that reason. Well, there were several: 1) The mass quantities of flamewar and OT posts. 2) In keeping with #1, nearly every conversation degenerates into a flamewar. 3) Because the list is so open and so busy, the quality of advice is often garbage (at least at first), and when the real experts step in to provide correction all hell breaks loose (because the idiots giving bad advice get pissy when they're contradicted in public), which is why nearly every post degenerates into a flamewar. So, that's mostly my 3 reasons for not wanting this list to become another CF-Talk... and why I think (if I may) that when you really think about it you probably don't actually want it to become that either. Not to mention that if it gets that busy most of the folks giving advice will leave the list. ;) Laterz! J PS - I like your blog, dude... keep it up. I remember blogging about that stuff while I was learning it and it was great fun!
