Biggest pain with hand built DAO's, gateways and beans is if a column is added 
to a db table you have to edit 3 or 4 cfc's AND the calling code too. 

Give me an ORM any day :-)

That's what I did, and I have yet to come across a situation that I  
cannot tackle with Transfer.  It's not perfect, but I certainly don't  
feel like a DAO is going to get me any further.
