Do you mean two dimensional images representing snapshots
of a three dimensional space?  (Perhaps like google streetview?)

If so, I do not have any good suggestions (though someone else
here might), except that this kind of thing almost demands some
approximate hints as to your image locations.  (It's a lot easier
to find where you are when you are not lost.)
