Dear Dan, here it goes for me, this works for me: J opens in ijx as always, forget that and open a file in ijs, drag that file over to the right have the ijx and ijs open side by side copy and paste back and forth (regularly ijs will tell you that it is read only for some reason, go to edit and clear the read only) continue with the back and forth. Press the 'run line' now and then when needed in ijx when you want to see actual numerical results
when you are done with the work, paste the good stuff to ijs, delete the bad stuff in oijs, save the ijs file end of a simple story, sort of simple Too bad you missed the early 80's hp BASIC machines, which still work just fine today you just named a program file type and edit as you like, and run it whenever you like, and so on name a new program file and so on, everything is saved automatically, by name, optionally you can back up onto other devices or by the same name with a number behind it etc... I am sad to hear about the 'limited standard precision', no simple options of double etc precision at my discretion and cost of computing time. Thanks all around, D ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
