I did a find in files for all of J6 and J7 making sure that everything was
current in jal/pacman. I cannot currently find any definition for "jgc".

I found gnuplot difficult(but not impossible) to set up for use with JHS.
Support of gnuplot was part of the moving target of scripts that seemed to have
different requirements every few days. I suspect is now more or less stable in
IJS. The install instructions in jhs->jhelp->gnuplot seen adequate, but
insufficient for beginners or those who are not intimately familiar with system
setup.

The current JHS plotting uses javascript and a html canvas element. I did not
have to make any changes to get it to work with IE9 on Win7 or IE8 on Win7
except to make sure I had the latest jal updates installed.

JHS Google 'charts' are png graphic files that are created by a request to
Google and inserted into the JHS jijx screen. I found that Google graphics
seem
to have fewer setup requirements to get them to work than some of the other
plot
methods.
