I looked at the plot labs in JHS/IE9. I found labs: Lab: Plot Package Lab: Plot Package for JHS
Both started with this comment: To advance the lab, press Esc A in JHS or Ctrl-J in Gtk. I had to use ctrl+. to advance in IE9. The Plot Package lab worked fine for me. There were no errors and all of the plots displayed inline in the IJX session. http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/DavidMitchell?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=JHSPlotIE9Lab.png (link updated due to j wiki deleting .PNG file) The Plot Package for JHS lab worked similarly up until the part that tried to use jgc, which got errors like this: *** event handler error ev_dot_ctrl 0 |value error: jgc | 'reset xpie3 show' jgc 20+3?100 |[-1] jdo jev_jijx_ 0 jtype ctrl jmid dot jsid jdata It looks like with the recent enhancements to plot, the lab "Plot Package for JHS" is out of date and may no longer be needed at all.
