Hi Larry,
There were a lot of variables which determined the last date of production.
It varied depending on the amount of orders placed by the announced order
deadline.
Sometimes they rejected orders if the materials were not available or
offered the buyer an newer model car; but often they were able to make
"running changes" during the last weeks of a model year if the new
components were compatible, such as the few 402 engines which wound up in
396 cars.
You can see that the last date of production is not easily determnined.
I'll look to see if I can find Chevrolet Division or United Auto Workers
records which show first and last dates.
An earliest/latest poll sounds like fun.
