When I bought my 67, the guy had replaced the PG with a TH 350. I went to
put my new TH 400 in today, and I have run into a problem I need some help
on. There isn't enough room between the crossmember mounting surface and the
mounting surface on the trans. to fit the trans. mount. I need about another
3/4 inch. The mount is a duplicate of the old one from a local trans supply
house. If I jack the engine/trans higher it hits the shifter linkage where
it comes out the floor. Are 350 crossmembers different than 400's? My only
solution is to remove and reweld the crossmember mounting surface lower on
the crossmember. Any ideas, suggestions would help.
