Hi Larry!

Everything is expensive for me, unless it's free. OK, just kidding! Here in Hungary a rebulit engine is about 2-3000$. In the US it's probably cheaper, but the shipping is expensive too. So the solution is that i buy a used engine here in Hungary and after that i order an engine restoration kit from the US. It'll be expensive too, but i think it'll worth it. What's your opinion?
The other thing you asked:
I almost need a complete motor. The only things i have is the power brakes and power steering. So i need almost everything.
And another problem.
I have a 3speed manual transmission. It works, but it was for a L6 engine. Is it good for a 350 V8? Or should i buy the TH 350 the man selling for his engine?

gellert:
welcome to the list.
the HP was rated different , 1966 HP was rated at the motor and 1977 at the
rear wheels. also in about 1971 they started dropping the HP in performance
cars. maybe one of the other list members will get technical about this.
what do you consider very expensive? maybe buying a GM crate motor and having
it shipped may be more economical.
one thing i will ask now is the whole motor missing or do you have the
brackets for any thing like alternator, power steering or air conditioning?
Up to 1968 CHEVELLES small block and big block took a short water pump.you
can put a motor with a long pump (69 and newer) but brackets and radiator
position may be different.
