or as i once beat my head upon a wall trying to find -- an out of round lifter bore allowing the lifter to bleed down, another time it was a rocker stud that was pulling out of the head(press-in)caused by too much spring pressure/allowing the rocker to, in affect, back off on the adjustment....................
