I may be picking up a 454 out of a '86 truck this weekend. I was wondering if I will need different frame mounts for the swap (the car currently has a sb 400)? Can the engine mounts be re-used from the SB? I'm considering Hedman Elite headers for the swap (1 3/4", with a 3" collector), because they seem to be the only ones that will clear a column shift; does anyone have experience with other headers that will clear column shift, and clutch linkage (in case I want to go manual at a later date)?
