John:

Thanks also. I have been going around and around with
the right carb application for the 67 SS. First I did
put on an Edelbrock Performer Series Carb with
electric
choke. But, you need an adapter plate. This one inch
adapter plate caused the cleaning element to hit the
roof of the hood. So, I went back to the Edelbrock
Carb, 1901. Fit like a charm. But, the original coil
thermo element is missing and the rebuild people
apparently blocked the factory intake manifold so it
does not use heat. Hence, I am going with this set up

Part # Q-EC3. www.quadrajet.com

This is a choke conversion kit that converts divorce
choke quadrajets to electric chokes. It mounts to the
intake manifold where the coil used to rest. Hope it
works.

Have others here have had a clearance problem with 67
SS' and factory intake manifolds + aftermarket carbs ?

Cheers,

Ken McD...
