Well Beck here is the deal as I see it........You have a Canadian made Malibu SS with a 230 6-cyl. A car readily available in Canada at the time.....not uncommon at all. The fact that they were marketed as a Chevelle SS doesn't really mean much , as your GM Canada documentation shows it was a Malibu SS ......just like mine. These Malibu SS cars that were made in 66 and 67 came equipped with anywhere from a 6cyl to a BB 396, and all were sold as Malibu SS's......the only Chevelle SS396 available in 66 was imported to Canada not built here.Things didn't change until late 67 when the imported SS396 became more available at a reasonable price and the end of the Malibu SS was written . Yours is a Canadian car built for export, it is a Malibu SS, what nordic GM called it does not change what it was built as here .....the only unique qualities the car has over our domestic Malibu SS is the options installed for export ...that is what makes it different and the fact that someone has put the wrong script on your rear quarter :) Mel 67 Malibu SS > Re Beck > PS: For what I have seen in forms of Canadian > documents the SS396 was avalible in Canada in 66. > However as I said before - GM nordic sold SS models > based on the Malibu but sold as SS not Malibu SS. .net ----------------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
