Michael, I think George already answered the "how" question, but I have one. 3.58 gears? I don't think Chevrolet ever had 3.58 gear, maybe a 3.55 or some aftermarket mfg.? Check the number of teeth at http://www.bull-enterprises.com/dalesplace/team67/groups/group.005/axlecodes .htm and it'll tell you the ratio.
