Rick, Since your are taking them out there is no harm damaging them. I have been collecting tools for a few years, here is how I did mine. Popped the center metal ring out. I heated mine by shoving a welding rod inside the center tube with the amperage turned way up. They basically popped out by themselves from the heat. Next I cut the rubber bushing in half with a reciprocating saw. A hacksaw blade or jigsaw would work too. Now using an air chisel, I could push the rubbers out. Finally all that is left is the outer metal shell. With the air chisel I collapsed the shell and it fell out. Reinstallation: I used a 5lb hammer and a block of wood and hammered them in.
