Hello Tom, the book i have shows it on the back passenger side rear and saw 2
different pictures of it being there (2) different 64 cars

That is what I have seen as well. But I have also seen the antenna on the passenger side front and drivers side rear. The SS I am buying has it on the drivers side front fender and is a vertical antenna. That is what made me wonder what the reason was that there are the three different formats for the location of the antenna on the 64 Malibu SS. I know my first 64 had it on the passenger side front fender. But I like the look of the car better with the antenna on the passenger side rear fender.
