sounds to me it was an "add on". i have never seen one on drivers front side front or  rear . the only time i've seen one on drivers side rear is when there have been dual antennas and then the driver side was a fake.i believe this was a dealer add on. i think it may have been which plant the car was built . i remember years ago i was told that if the antenna was in the rear it was a california car. my car was built at freemont and the antenna is in the front. my buddys car was built in alanta and it is a rear mount. so that blows that theory.
