are you getting power to the coil? sounds like you don't have something hooked up right

agree Larry,,sounds like it to me as well....One thing that I've tried and worked is to run a straight wire (speaker wire at the time) from the hot post of the battery to the ignition side of the coil, hit the switch and see if it fires,,,,of course it'll burn up the coil if it ain't a HEI and it isn't shut off immediately (by removing the wire!),,but quick enough it let me know I had a wiring problem,,,,as they say,,,when all else fails...Having a voltmeter at the time would've helped too....
