Chuck, 
 I would check the ground connections. I've had cars that would not do
anything, even though testing the battery produced plenty of current, and
the connections seemed to be tight. Double check your battery connections,
the ground on the engine and the positive cable at the battery. Also look at
the condition of the cables and the cable ends... I've seen 'good' looking
cables that were actually corroded from the inside out.
