It was the frist run of metal backed pads, The previous were fiberglass. The mounting holes. are the holes in the Generals dash.  I had to be elongated to fit the studs protruding from the pad. The 64/65 dash pad wraps over the front of the insturment panel. It's across this area when you insert the dash/instrument panel , that it pushes the top of the moldel plastic dash pod  down , above the clock.tach area. Just loking at  it from out side it's not as noticible. But from the drivers seat it's quite obvious.   Wayne
