Why not install an electric pump as an auxiliary
source of fuel? Prime the carb with the electronic pump before starting and use
the engine-driven pump as your main supplier. After starting,switch off the
electric pump.
Putting one in the tank will probably require a
custom tank;not cheap. I would recommend it if you were running EFI but not a
carb.
