Hi Kerry,   No hard feelings at all. I have always been told that there was no official VIN designation for the SS in 1969, but that's just what I've always heard. Your book could very well be right. I'd be interested in seeing what it has to say. I have a 1969 Service Manual here, but if I crack the binding it's no longer saleable, so I try not to rip through the books I have here. Many of them are shrink-wrapped anyway.
