While I realize that it's easy to get in a hurry and miss a word here and there (like does NOT send parts) but the emphasis on education the past few years seems to be too touchy-feely, make the child feel good and there are no winners or losers. Unfortunately, it's when those "kids" become adults that the facts hit home and people write like they speak leaving it up to someone else to figure out what they are trying to convey. I guess it just escapes me how simple 3 and 4 letter words can be so misused. Know, no, now, then, than, it's, its, and one of my favorite non-words...alot.
If English is indeed a second language to the writer, I applaud his/her (and all) efforts at the task. English is a daunting and, at times stupid, language and writing does not reflect emotion or inflection so often needed in oral conversation. I know it'd be very difficult for me to attack a second language unless I absolutely had to. Being from the midwest, I still chuckle a bit (inside of course) at southern drawl, "ya'll" and "fixing" to do something but after 25+ years, it's getting easier :*). Aside from the obvious faux pas of the wording, I found it odd that the person was asking if they should give someones name while not signing the email themselves.
