I ran a 2-bolt .060 over 396 in my Nova that ran 8.90~9.00s in 1000ft at 
over 105mph.  I put over 280 passes on the motor with NO bottom end 
problems at all.  What killed it was using TRW pistons on the stock rods 
with improper pin fitting.  The pins galled in the pistons.  The 2-bolt, 
properly set up, will be OK for any street application I can think of.
