One generally accepted practice is to set the seat with the cover stretched over out in the driveway in the 95 deg sun for a while to soften 'er up. Then stretch it and hog ring it.
I would like to rebuild my seats myself this winter, but I think I will wait until next summer to do it since I think the sun will be an excellent stretch agent.
