This sucked. I put a new Summit HEI distributor on my Chevelle when I rebuilt it, about 3000 or 4000 miles ago. This summer it did not have decent power, it was only able to spin the wheels about a car length (with a 468 BBC). I was going to change it to the lightest mech advance springs to see if that helped, and found that the bushings on the advance weights were shot, dust all over in the cap, and even the hole in the weight for the pin was being worn oblong. $7 and 2h later, boy that helped! Runs very smooth again and has lots more power again, able to spin the wheels through first and most of second gear.
