Tried removing the old filter and still no
luck. It appears that it may come out from the bottom the best. The
clutch linkage is the only thing I can see holding it back. I am def. not
a pro with anything to do with clutches so is there anything I should look out
for taking the linkage apart. You are right, I do NOT want to have to take
the head off. They are some kind of aftermarket cheap crap header, two of
the four pipes were smashed about half closed so I have some Hooker's in the box
waiting to go on it.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Header removal I have a 69 4spd big block and I am having a rough
time getting the driver's side header off. The passenger side came out
from the bottom, but the driver's side hits the clutch, steering, etc. so,
unbolted motor and moved steering column out of way and it still will not come
out the top. Any secrets I am missing?
