Before even thinking about replacing the starter I would open my wallet and fork
over about 5 bucks to your local chevy dealer for a new lighter weight solenoid spring...


I have the A/C Delco part number for the spring in the garage if anyone is interested...

All I can say is that I have only ran into 2 individual cars that the replacing the spring alone
has not cured the problem... COMPLETELY !


My Chevelle and 2 of my Corvettes now have this light weight spring and I have never had the
hot start problem again....


Principal is simple.... spring compresses with a lot less force therefore it does not require nearly as much "electrical power" ...
